Shelby (Cocker Spaniel)

We got Molly (now Shelby) from you last month and are very pleased with her. She has adapted to her new home and surroundings. The vet said she was well cared for and is very healthy. Thanks again for your kindness and the attention you showed us on our visit to your kennel.

Syrus (Miniature Schnauzer)

When we picked Syrus (Sy) out online, my fiancee said he looks like he needs a home. Well this little character is one of our greatest joys. He spent the first few days sleeping on his back in the middle of our bed or curled along my Fiancee’s legs. Sy learned quickly that puppy food was for snacking and that we peel boiled chicken for him. His absolute favorite is Maple Brown Sugar oatmeal. He can eat two packages at one time plus the half a cup of kibble I mix into it.

His disposition is nothing short of marvelous, especially since you were his Mommy and Daddy for seven months and when we adopted him we changed his world.

He loves his little red Letterman jacket and the people at the Vet clinic just adore him. My next question for you is are you or do you have any plans to breed English bull dogs? The next baby to come is for my Fiancee and that is the breed he is looking for. I will send more pics of Sy for your website of his first Christmas and him unwrapping his doggy toys.

Frosty (West Highland White Terrier)

I am sending a picture of our West Highland Terrier we got from you in October 2008. His name was Sparky when we bought him, but my twin daughters named him Frosty. We’ve had him about a month now and he is just a wonderful dog.

Our Vet is very impressed with his health and friendly personality. He loves playing with our cats and is very friendly towards other dogs. The thing we love the most of him, is how gentle he is when playing with my 7 year old twins.

He is doing very well with house training and will start puppy classes in January. Overall he is just a wonderful family companion. We love him to pieces. Thank you for such a great dog.

Sinbad (Scottish Terrier)

I wanted to drop you a line and let you know that we had Sinbad (Scamp) to the Vets office for his first visit. The Vet said that he is a very healthy and adorable dog. Your kennel received high praise from our vet for raising a healthy dog, the were specifically impressed that Sinbad had all of his shots.

Sinbad is a happy and intelligent dog that gets way too much attention! He is learning his basic commands and is being potty trained I am looking forward to taking our first sailing trip early next year, we will send photos of Sinbad in his life jacket then.

Dekan (Cairn Terrier)

We would like to show off our Cairn Terrier, Dekan. It all started in February of 2008. My husband and I had been discussing buying a puppy. We researched the Cairn Terrier and decided that was the dog for us. We heard of Ed and Erla’s kennel by word of mouth. Sure enough, there was an ad in the paper a few days later.

We were going out for Valentine’s Day and decided we were going to go over just to look. When Ed brought him out for us to see, we immediately fell in love with him! The next evening we went to the pet store and bought all of the equipment and toys needed for a spoiled house dog. We were ready to go!

A few weeks passed and only days remained until we could bring him home. The night before we were supposed to pick him up, Erla called and had found something wrong with his left eye. As soon as she discovered this, they brought Dekan into their home to protect him from the other puppies.

Because the Martin’s are so loving towards their animals, they took him to the vet immediately. The vet found that he had a second eyelid growing underneath the first. Dekan was going to require surgery. As heartbroken as we were, we still wanted him. We will never regret that decision! Ed and Erla continued to nurse his eye back to health. During his recovery, they offered and even encouraged us to come visit him.  In a few weeks, he was ready to come home. Dekan is a wonderful little Cairn and bustling with energy all the time. He has even made friends with the neighborhood goat!

Ed and Erla were very honest throughout the whole surgery situation, something you don’t find much of anymore, especially in the business of puppy sales. We will definitely be back in a few years!
